L’ISO International Organization for standardization tramite i suoi competenti Comitati tecnici sta portando avanti un’ampia ed importante attività normativa nell’ambito dell’affidabilità, durabilità e manutenzione delle strutture in calcestruzzo.
La ISO 16311-2 è la seconda di quattro norme dedicate alla manutenzione delle strutture in calcestruzzo emesse nel 2014 a cura del Sottocomitato 7 -manutenzione e riparazione delle strutture in calcestruzzo - dell’ISO/TC 71-calcestruzzo, calcestruzzo armato e precompresso.
Questa norma specifica le procedure e le metodologie degli accertamenti sulle strutture in calcestruzzo approfondendo per tali strutture quanto già normato nella ISO 13822-2010 “Basis for design of structures- Assessment of existing structures”.
La ISO 16311-2 definisce il flusso delle varie attività necessarie per condurre gli accertamenti nell’ambito della più ampia procedura di manutenzione trattata nella ISO 16311-1: definizione dei requisiti e degli scenari, pianificazione degli accertamenti preliminari e dettagliati, investigazioni, risultanze, valutazione, verifiche, raccomandazioni e rapportazione.

Riparazioni, prevenzione ed azioni correttive sono poi approfonditi dalle altre parti ISO 16311-3-4.
Cinque corposi allegati sviluppano nel dettaglio aspetti specifici: particolarmente interessante l’Annex A che definisce i livelli degli accertamenti e le investigazioni fornendo esempi applicativi.

ISO International Organization for standardization trough its competent Technical Committees is carrying out a wide and important activity on reliability, durability and maintenance of concrete structures.
ISO 16311-2 is the second part of four Standards concerning the maintenance of concrete structures issued in 2014 by the STC 7 – maintenance and repair of concrete structures- of ISO/TC71-concrete, reinforced and prestressed concrete.
This Standard states procedures and methods of the assessment of existing concrete structures detailing in deep for these structures the requirements already defined in ISO 13822-2010 “Basis for design of structures- Assessment of existing structures”.
ISO 16311-2 specify the assessment activities flow chart within the frame of the maintenance procedure outlined in ISO 16311-1: definition of scope and requirements, planning of preliminary and detailed assessments, investigations, data collection and results, evaluation, verification, recommendations and reporting.

Five extensive Annexes supplement the contents of the Standard: especially interesting is Annex A dealing with assessment levels and investigations with comprehensive examples.
