L'indagine dei danni del terremoto aquilano è stata condotta solo sul patrimonio architettonico al fine di verificarne l'idoneità all'uso. A questo scopo, vennero istituiti due modelli ("chiese" e "edifici storici") ufficialmente adottati nel 2006. Nella fase di emergenza vennero esclusi i siti archeologici, anche se molto numerosi nella zona e significativamente danneggiati. In occasione del terremoto del 2009, il CNR-ITC di L'Aquila ha testato un nuovo modello di raccolta dati per il patrimonio archeologico. La campagna di monitoraggio mostra alcuni interessanti risultati sullo stato di conservazione di questi siti in generale.
The survey of the earthquake’s damage has been done only on the architectural heritage, in order to verify its fitness for use. There are two models for this purpose (“churches” and “historical buildings”) officially adopted in 2006. At the time of the emergency phase, the archaeological sites were excluded, even if they are very numerous in the area and were significantly damage. On the occasion of the earthquake of 2009, the CNR-ITC of L’Aquila is
testing a new data model for the archaeological heritage. The monitoring campaign shows some interesting results on the conservation status of these sites in general.
